Every year, Natyalaya students perform at dozens of venues across Texas. Natyalaya is also well-known in the Austin area for its original, professional-level productions, such as "Ganga: a River's Story," "The Jungle Book," and "Navahavarna: the Colors of the Number Nine." Every summer, Natyalaya is proud to showcase the skills of its accomplished students as they perform their Arangetrams, or solo debut performances. Natyalaya also hosts several camps and workshops open to all in the central Texas area.

  • Yoga Workshop
    July 25 - Aug 6
    Dr. Sanjay Shantaram

This yoga camp, led by Dr. Sanjay Shantaram, is for both dancers and non-dancers and centers on using pranayama (breathing techniques) as well as asanas (yoga body positions) to improve flexibility and stamina. Dance students will review anga shuddi and abhinaya as well as learn an item. Non-dancers are welcome to attend the morning and evening general yoga sessions.

Guru Sanjay was a child prodigy who started dancing at age 7 as a child actor in Kannada movies. An accomplished Kuchipdui and Bharathanatyam dancer trained under Guru Narmada and Guru Veena Murthy, he has performed in all of the major dance festivals of India and has toured the world as well. He has received several state and national Scholarships for dance and has both composed music for and choreographed dance dramas such as Roopa -Viroopa (based on Beauty and the Beast) and Aladdin.
